KRISTIAN "DIDDI" GUNNARSON

No words can descripe what fly fishing means to Kristjan or as everybody calls him "Diddi"! Both, passion and obsession are understatements for the emotions he is going thru when he's out there fishing every day. 

Ever since he can walk he's been fishing and still remembers the day he caught his first fish like it happend yesterday, how his heart skipped a beat and the adrenalin in his body triggered somthing that changed his life ever after! When Diddi was 13 he got his first flyrod which he fell in love with right away. The fly tying followed soon after and he couldn't think of anything else to do with his life than beeing outside fishing. Asking his father or brother to take him out or just stay in his room tying flies was pretty much Diddi's childhood – and it payed off! Today, he's a full-time guide during the summer time and one of Iceland's best fly tyers with a long list of costumer, who will only fish with his flies most of the time. Guided in some of Iceland's best salmon and trout rivers Diddi brought fish to customers in rivers including Midfjardara, Vididalsa, Laxá in Adaldal, Breidalsa, Minnivallarlækur and many more. Since 2010 he is also on the pro team for pro flytyer tube fly company and has been representing them on several fly tying expos in Iceland both in his home town Akureyri and in Reykjavik as well as on a fair in Paris in february 2011.
