MANDY SCHIRNAU

Mandy at work

Looking over her dad's shoulder when she was young, Mandy recognizes her passion for flyfishing in her early years as a girl and even started tying self-created fly-patterns all by herself when she was only five years old. At the age of eight she was given her first own flyrod and caught her fist roaches and bleakright away. Eves since, she never let go off this fabulous passion of her's and taught herself the art of casting, tying, and flyfishing time by time.

Fishing especially for trout and grayling, she proves her knowledge and always seeks the big challenge of outsmarting a tricky fish, even if it takes for hours. Furthermore, Mandy collected experience in the field of carp- and pike-flyfishing. With her years as a flyfisherẃoman, she also started to develop an interest for entomology, focusing on ephemeras, caddis-, and stoneflies. Using this knowledge to create new fly-patterns, she is always willing to share her experience with her fellow fishing-mates. Her dream is, to one day have the chance to go after big taimen or take on the fight with a bonefish in the endless flats of the Caribbean Sea.
