TOBIAS SPIELER

Tobias Spieler gett'n ready

Tobias Spieler is a 20 year old guy from Flensburg, Germanys most northern city. He started fly fishing when he was 13. He all ready had a lot of experience with other kinds of Fishing. But one day in November something in his life changed.

He was fishing, and there he saw this man. Vest, Waders, Hat and a Fly-rod in his hand. He remembered that the teacher he had at the fishing license test, had explained to him that there are many different styles of fishing. One of these styles are fly fishing. The royal discipline of fishing. In this special moment he knew that this was what his life was about. He got his first fly rod the same Christmas. From this moment it had happened to him.

His first footsteps in the fantastic world of fly fishing was on a football field, while snowing. He didn´t care about that, he was just focusing on the techniques and how to handle it. It took a long time to get successful. Still, the conclusion is; fly fishing is not just about catching or being successful, its more than that!

Since the very first time he had been fly fishing in the Baltic sea, he was kind of fascinated to stand in the sea, never ending Widnes in front of him. To focus on striking irregularities in the subsoil and which kind of shrimps, fishes, or freshwater shrimps that are in the water.

He has fished several waters in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Most of his time he fishes in salt water, but he also loves to fish in lakes or streams. He has set hooks in several fish species. Some of them are: Seatrout, Browntrout, Grayling, Pollack, Makrell and so on.

Tobias spends a lot of time with his tying vise. It doesn´t matter how small or big the flies are. Creating new patterns and seeing how they work is something you can´t describe in words.
Since 2 Years he also works as a photographer. The combination fly fishing and photographing is very special to him. To freeze special moments in a picture.

This is what Tobias Spieler is about. He will try to give you a chance to see what he is doing, and also try to explain why.
